Postural stability affects a child’s ability to effectively maintain the trunk, shoulders, and hips in static position during motor activities. Decreased postural control can affect the ability to sit in a chair and participate in more sedentary/sitting activities. Sufficient trunk control is needed for fine motor control and therefore can impact one’s writing, cutting, and other precision skills.
